komposeauth (Open Source)

Open-source, full-stack authentication for Kotlin Multiplatform that I created and maintain: a Spring Authorization Server backend with a shared KMP SDK and Compose Multiplatform UI. The client SDKs are on Maven Central and the server image is on Docker Hub, so any app can add secure OAuth2 sign-in with minimal setup.

The problem

Adding sign-in to a Kotlin Multiplatform app usually means a third-party auth service: vendor lock-in, recurring costs, and less control over your users' data, the sign-in flow and the UI.

What I built

  • A Spring Authorization Server backend, shipped as a Docker image on Docker Hub
  • A shared Kotlin Multiplatform SDK and a Compose Multiplatform UI SDK, both on Maven Central
  • OAuth2 sign-in that any app can add with minimal setup

Outcome

  • Open source under the Apache-2.0 licence
  • Self-hosted, so teams keep full control of their data, flow and UI
